i’m fairly new to the whole world of comment moderation, but hasn’t anyone noticed that the worst thing about the new generation of comment spam is how nice all the url-floggers are at first? ‘i hope you’re going to update your site soon.’ ‘two thumbs up!!! superb.’ (yes, there were three exclamation points in the original.) it almost seems like there’s an actual person behind the bot, which really makes the inevitable links to porn sites (and, in one case, the official site for ‘in her shoes’ — dude was apparently not trapped on my cross-country flight two weeks ago) about 105% more needy and pathetic. who knew you could exceed infinity-squared?
