is this the best song ever? every time i listen to it, i’m convinced it is–the breaking vocals, the lighter-than-air broken piano chords. it’s so sad, yet so … hopeful, in its oblivious haze that feels borne by a perfectly calibrated mix of self-righteousness and controlled substances.
Thanks for the tip. My “Death Before Disco” self wants it known that this is a cover of a song by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, a.k.a. Chic. (Their version is surprisingly similar, albeit with female vocalists.)
