not a lot to say, really, today, except that it’s too damn cold and i’m doing the math as to whether or not i should join a gym four blocks away or a gym that’s five blocks away. also, i can’t stop thinking about why sausage stuffing with cranberry sauce is so sublime and satisfying, even if it sends me into a near-coma about an hour after i consume it.

lately reading:

lately listening:

“irreplaceable” (loved by the ladies at last night’s jay-z show)

also, right now i am 1000% thankful for firefox 2.0’s spellchecker (although, for some reason, it doesn’t recognize the name of the browser it’s embedded in!)

I really like the fact that having a website with your name on it is so cool. My name is Maura also and I find it hard to find someone with my name.
    ur fan,

The main difference is that THIS maura officially changed her last name to Dotcom circa 1994. (But Maura Hayes is also very pretty.)

To Maura Dotcom: Hi! I enjoyed staying with you! The boyfriend is super nice, and also super! When are you coming to Chicago? We have rock and roll and Internet here, too, you know! Stay with me, there is room for 2! My new place is the envy of the West.

    Love,
    Bob

(When I say room for 2, I mean room for 2 guests, ie. you and Joe. If counting myself, there is room for 3. I could probably even squeeze in a fourth on my roll-out bed mat, so bring Daniel too and we’ll call it a party!)

I am writing about a month too late, but if you’re debating between Lucille Roberts and NYSC — I can assure you that Lucille Roberts’ crappy crap crap hours, lack of basic amenities (like towels… ahem, health codes?) and will make it totally NOT worth it. You have to sign up for basic things like treadmills and the FOUR ellipticals they have (and usually at least one of those isn’t working) pretty early in the evening if you hope to get a cardio workout that does not involve shuffling along an overcrowded floor with superloud music during some kind of “class”. Yes, half the price of NYSC, but totally, totally not worth it.

That is, supposing those are the two you were choosing between. If not, the, nevermind…

Please forgive the numerous typos in the above post — ’tis late and my keyboard sticks.
