yes, i do still buy cds. does that make me old?

purchased today at seattle’s excellent easy street records:
malajube trompe l’oeil (frenchy bloggy rock and roll)
klaxons new myths of the future (hey, it was only $7.99)
as mercenarias the beginning of the end of the world (yay for brazilian lady-fronted postpunk)
quicksand manic compression (too long after the fact)
and a black and grey queen bee minima truckette (oh my, at 30% off!)

I don’t there’s any shame in purchasing the klaxons record. boo to the haters.

I don’t think buying CDs or even LPs makes you old. Listening to NPR Marketplace and BBC while making rice and washing the dishes does, however…this is what I did last night. Yes, I am old. Not too old to be curious about Klaxons, perhaps…my CD obsession of the moment is the “Death Proof” soundtrack, special-ordered and purchased at Wall of Sound.

It doesn’t make you old. It makes you an ethically-minded music fan with a steady income.

By JMHT’s standards I am old. Except I rarely wash dishes.
