how to know

that a night is going to be a good one: when you walk in, the jellybean benitez remix of “the mexican” starts playing. and then when you get home, a hype machine search helps you realize that it’s a remix of another track that you’ve never heard before, and that is pretty decent in its own sorta proto-indie-rockish right.

not to say “man, i love knowing about freestyle!”–but i do. because how else would i have learned about all this? please, if you have any other songs like this in your own personal archives, beep me 911, because this is pretty much all the music i want to listen to at this point in time.

    Maura,
Can you make me a mix? I meant to ask you about this the last time you wrote about freestyle.

I need one ’cause I gotta stop listening to Kala nonstop. Three months straight is too much; I probably would have been better off back in the vinyl days, because then at least the damned thing would have worn out by now.
